Job Title: Right of Way Representative
Estimated Assignment: 5/7/2020 – 12/18/2020
Location: Birmingham, AL. 35203


Description:
• Client is seeking a Right of Way Representative to work in the Colonial Plaza office in Birmingham, AL. This position will be responsible for timely and cost effective securing of easements and permits.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Secure easements for various construction jobs.
• Secure permits for installation and maintenance of services and mains.
• Work with cities, counties, and various municipalities to schedule street repair projects.
• Assist in the administration of Construction and Maintenance (C&M) capital work orders.
• Secure engineering services for surveying and staking work.
• Meet with representatives from various municipalities to keep them informed of ongoing projects and any upcoming projects.
• Meet with C&M personnel to clear up easement and permit questions on gas routes.
• Attend various organization meetings and functions on the Company''s behalf.
• Work with municipal officials to ensure good working relationship.
• All other duties as assigned.

Required Education: (may include certifications, licenses, and registrations)
• High school diploma/GED
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
• Five years of construction knowledge as it applies to the Company''s gas distribution system
• Three years of experience reading construction drawings, land legal descriptions and surveys
• Knowledge of G.I.S., Maximo, iProcurement, iExpense and iMAP systems preferred
Physical demands, work environment and work schedule:
• Work is normally performed in a shared office environment; at times, the work is performed in outdoor weather conditions of extreme heat and extreme cold and in quiet to moderately noisy conditions
• Occasional overtime and travel will be required
