Title: Customer Service Representative

1) In the answer to your question about top 3-5 daily responsibilities, Scott stated, "checking quality on batches of seed". Can you please elaborate what this entails, whether specific skills/experience are needed and any equipment or tools utilized, etc.
a. This would be working within our SAP system to check quality of our product. We have quality specs by market that the successful candidate would be trained on and they would then ensure that the seed they are selecting for customers meet the criteria. This is not a physical check on the seed or seed quality. All through the system.
2) Is this position working 100% onsite right now or with covid-related restrictions is some/all of their time working remotely?
a. Right now this is 100% remote work due to the covid restrictions. If the office opens then it would shift to on-site work. Don’t anticipate the office opening soon. Will more than likely be into next year.


Handles customer and sales correspondence; traces lost shipments; interprets and clarifies customer orders for the shipping department; takes orders over the phone when necessary; confers with management regarding customer credits; returns goods for credit; and writes price differentials on mail orders. May approve allocation of stock in short supply, special price quotations and bids, and pricing allowances, deductions, and adjustments. May management inventories at customer facilities using EDI (electronic data interchange), forecasting, replenishment and inventory systems, focusing on stock and allocation issues to maximize service levels. May manage development process for targeted new VMI (vendor managed inventory) accounts. May make account visits with sales, systems, and trade marketing management.



Requires HS diploma and 1-2 years of customer service experience


• What is a day like in this role? What 3-5 responsibilities will occupy their time? Working in SAP system on customer orders, working with other team members to accomplish tasks, checking quality on batches of seed, running reports to help with day to day responsibilities
• Who will this person work with on a daily basis? Several team members to ensure timely completion of orders in our process and in the downstream processes. Also may interact a little with customers and our sales team.
• Tell me about the team dynamic/culture. The team is a good team to be a part of. A lot of work for everyone, busy time of year right now. Team works hard and generally has tight deadlines.
• What are the ‘must haves’ to be successful in this role? Communication skills, ability to manage time wisely, organizational skills, working within multiple computer systems
• What is the long term plan for the role? Will start off as a 6 month assignment. Depending on workload and performance that may be extended beyond the 6 months, still in the capacity as a contractor
