Job Title: PT Engineering Intern
Location: Rothschild, WI 54474
Duration: 9+ Months
Schedule: Shift 1; M-F (8:00 AM - 12:00 PM)

Position Title: Engineer-in-Training (Intern Level). This position entails performing basic engineering calculations, mass balances, Excel programming, and preparation of Design Tool User Manuals under the direction of the Integrated Solutions Business Manager.

Position Objectives:
• Provide support to PLM and Bid Manager in pre-sales efforts by:
• Supporting updates to existing Excel-based design tools, and assisting in the programming requirements for new design tools currently being developed and resulting from current R&D efforts.
• Preparing Design Tool User Manuals for in-house design tools.
• Establish talent “feeder” program for potential new entry-level hires through college intern hires.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Update existing Excel-based design programs to reflect current design approaches and understanding of biological and physio-chemical kinetic behaviors
• Under the direction of the PLM and Bid Manager, prepare design tools for new technology offerings
• Prepare Design Tool User Manuals for in-house design tools

Position Department:
• This position reports to the Integrated Solutions Business Manager whose primary function is to lead the sales efforts on global sales pursuits. The Integrated Solutions Design Tools help establish the Client’ technical approach and solution strategy.

Excel Programming:
• Provide detailed reviews of existing Excel-based design tools and recommend, then implement structural changes to increase stability and functionality
• Under direction of the Integrated Solutions Business Manager and Bid Manager, develop new design tools using Excel, for recently developed solution platforms

Develop Design Tool User Manuals:
• Develop Design Tool User Manuals for up to eight (8) solution designs that currently make up the Client Solutions offerings:
• Detailed description of technical approach represented by the Design Tool
• Detailed description of the mathematical, empirical, kinetic models used in formulating the Design Tool
• Detailed description of routines and subroutines used in Design Tool to account for all mass balances
• Example calculations for mass balances accounted for in the Design Tool
• Technical Paper Appendices as supporting documentation for the mathematical, empirical, and kinetic models and model coefficients used in the Design Tool.
• Revision Tracking to account for Design Tool updates, modifications, and corrections.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

Required Education and Focus:
• Minimum 3 years of college coursework pursuing either Chemical, Environmental, or Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Natural Resources BS degree

Required Knowledge, Skills, or Expertise:
• College coursework in Chemistry, Physics, Calculus, Physical/Chemical and Biological Wastewater Treatment, Computer Programming
• Advanced Excel programming
