As the Post-Ramp Qualification Operations Project Manager (PRQ-OPM), you will be responsible for coordinating the activities necessary for qualification of components that increase supply, reduce costs, reduce TWR (total warranty returns), and/or improve yield.
In the PRQ-OPM role, you will lead cross-functional teams and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) teams to resolve engineering issues seen from mass production and field returns. In this role you will identify, evaluate, and drive various activities while clearly communicating the risks, priorities and schedules to the management team.
Post-Ramp Qualification OPM collaborates with engineering to establish timelines, benchmarks, and requirements for qualifying changes to shipping products. The OPM will serve to fulfill requests of many different parties, including: contract manufacturers, vendors, quality, planning, marketing, supply managers. OPMs work daily with overseas contractors, as well as locally with engineering and quality teams.
As the OPM you will respond quickly to changes to the overall goals, schedule, and/or architecture. OPMs are confident leaders capable of working with highly skilled Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, SW, and RF teams to identify risks, explore solutions, reach consensus and execute mitigations as quickly and expertly as possible. As this requires an in-depth understanding of development and manufacturing process, OPMs are required to have an engineering degree and experience in multidisciplinary engineering environments.
The role includes the following main duties:
• Lead cross functional engineering teams towards completion of qualifications
• Work closely with Quality, Engineering and Operations teams to identify potential issues
• Prioritize quality improvements
• Assess any risks to the engineering/quality process
• Succinctly communicate overall status of qualifications to executives
Key Qualifications
• Strong multidisciplinary and technical engineering background
• Impeccable interpersonal, multi-tasking and management skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment, and take on complex multidisciplinary issues
Education
• BS Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering degree or equivalent preferred
