JOB TITLE: Senior Contract Analyst (Telecommute)
START: 08/03/2020
END: 11/30/2020
HOURS: M-F, 8 am – 5 pm
LOCATION: Telecommute

LOCATION: Work location is telecommute. Preference is for resources to be telecommuters on the east coast.

Position assists attorneys by performing legal research, preparing correspondence, legal documents, and digests of legal materials and precedents; and by checking citations for form and accuracy. May also conduct legal research; prepare preliminary drafts of routine legal documents, occasional contact with representatives of federal, state, and local governments and the public, discovery orders, and proposed legislation and/or regulations. Recent litigation experiences helpful. Qualifications include having a paralegal certificate and paralegal experience or extensive legal secretarial experience. BA/BS degree preferred. PC proficiency in Word, and excellent communication and research skills. Must exhibit a professional attitude, have the ability to work independently, be computer literate and have previous law experience.

IDEAL BACKGROUND: Ideally looking for someone who can read and understand a pharmaceutical based legal contract and extract key pieces of information from it. They can be paralegals, pharmacists or even individuals from healthcare or healthcare insurance backgrounds.

The Senior Contract Analyst is a key member of a newly formed project team that is interpreting and extracting key pieces of information from legal contracts to support the OptumRx Industry Relations organization. This role will leverage Optum''s data repository to synthesize complex information and present it in a consolidated format to allow the Industry Relations team to optimize business performance. This role will also work in close collaboration with the Optum Rx Industry Relations business lead, contracting, analytics and Optum Rx finance and legal teams.

• Work as part of a project team to understand, interpret and extract key pieces of information from Pharmaceutical contracts
• Populate key pieces of information into a pre-prepared electronic template
• Validate a peer''s interpretation of a contract as part of a data quality check
• Work closely with legal and business teams to ensure contract language accurately conveys intent
• Communicate with various functional areas and translate legal healthcare contract elements in ways that can be understood by a variety of stakeholders, both verbally and in writing

• Bachelor''s degree in fields such as business administration, finance, law or a scientific or technical field
• 5-8 years relevant experience
• Strong experience with reviewing, interpreting or preparing legal contracts Or
• Strong working knowledge of US Pharmacy drug or healthcare insurance plans
• High level of attention to detail
• Identify solutions to non-standard requests and problems
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools such as Outlook & Excel
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a cross functional collaborative environment)
• Excellent verbal, written communication and organizational skills

• Master''s degree in fields such as business administration, finance, law or a scientific or technical field
• US Pharmacy Benefit Manager Experience
• Experience working with Documentation Management Systems
• Pharmacy or medical drug knowledge
• US healthcare insurance plan knowledge
• Experience working with Salesforce
• Worked or has trained as a Pharmacist in the United States
• Project management experience
• Experience with US Medical / Healthcare legal contracts
