Job Title: Senior Software Engineer in Test
Location – Preferably onsite with the team in San Rafael, potentially remote 1-2 days a week; Open to SF if we have a strong candidate that can be in SR once or twice a week (for critical meetings).

o Will you hire off of a Zoom interview or does the candidate need to come to SR for in-Person?
If the candidate is local, we’d like to bring him/her onsite.
Expect 1 mgr screen, 1 tech screen, 2-3 screens zoom (remote candidate) or onsite (local candidate) interviews.

Long-Term Contract

Position Overview:

• Experience with testing highly available, scalable, distributed systems and microservices in a production setting
• Work closely with product owners and engineers to understand system architecture, gather requirements and translate them to test plans for functional, regression and performance testing
• Work on test automations and deployment of system features, infrastructure and QA automation framework for our cloud-based platform
• Participate in software design reviews, you conduct peer code reviews, and provide input and feedback to other members of the development team
• Write unit, functional, regression tests for the code you create and work on continuous integration and deployment processes together with everyone else in the development team
• Document test plans, test cases, test results and communicate and co-ordinate with engineering to drive good quality deliverables
• Strong senior level software development/testing skills, with proficiency in Python (Javascript, C++ are a bonus)

Minimum Qualifications:
• BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical field
• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience with Pytest, or other test framework in Python.
• Experience working with application architecture and design diagrams to devise test solutions
• Work on test development and deployment of system features and QA automation framework
• Experience with microservices and RESTful web services
• Technology stack: Python, AWS
• Experience with Web UI test with Selenium or other framework
• Experience with Jenkins, GitHub and Artifactory
• Broad knowledge of AWS, server programming, databases, and cloud architectures

• Exceptional debugging, testing, and problem-solving skills
• Collaborate as a member of an agile team to get products and components tested and completed with best in class software development
• Excellent technical problem solving skills and aptitude to learn new technologies and methodologies
• Low tolerance for inefficiency and the burning desire to automate anything that can be automated
• Creative, collaborative, and product-focused
• A real passion for making simple, robust, and scalable platforms used by other engineering teams
• Team-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Working experience within product/application development teams
• Experience working with container frameworks (Docker) and container orchestration tools (AWS ECS, Kubernetes) is a bonus
