Job Title: Technical Writer
Location: Birmingham, AL 35203 or St. Louis, Mo. 63101
Estimated Assignment:


Client is seeking a technical writer to work in the St. Louis or Birmingham office. The selected individual will be responsible for assisting the Continuous Improvement team in establishing process documentation for a large-scale, multi-year program. The individual must be able to work on multiple documents concurrently while meeting tight deadlines. This includes gathering technical requirements, collaborating with stakeholders and coordinating the efforts of internal team members to produce high quality documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
ProVision experience but they know it might be hard so they would consider someone with advance experience with Visio.
• Work with Lead, Continuous Improvement to iteratively document all processes related to a large-scale, technology deployment program with multiple opportunities for standardization and optimization of processes
• Responsible for creating technical documents, explaining complex information in a clear and concise manner and working with a cross-functional team to ensure accuracy of process descriptions
• Proactively document current and future state processes and maintain consistent gap analysis to illustrate changes in process and highlight change management requirements
• Continually follow-up and actively pursue the information needed to complete the documentation, as well as to coordinate a consistent review cycle of all documentation as it is written
• Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation
• Analyze documents and manage all updates to maintain continuity of content and style
• All other duties as assigned

Education and experience:
• Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, a related discipline or equivalent experience
• 5 + years’ experience in technical writing

Certificates, licenses, registrations:
• Lean and/or project management accreditations are valued

Work environment:
• Lean and/or project management accreditations are valued

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Expert-level Visio and Provision skills and experience are imperative
• Proven track record of performing research and independent self-study as part of production of documentation deliverables
• Strong aptitude for critical thinking and a passion for problem solving
• Excellent organizational and time management skills. Must be able to juggle multiple documents under tight deadline while being flexible to accommodate shifting schedules
• Normal Work Environment – Work is normally performed in a shared office environment
• Typically, 8 hours a day, Monday through Friday
• May require work during nonstandard business hours
• Some travel may be required
